3 days ago, +1000 individuals, corporate leaders, AI researchers and notable members of the AI industry signed a petition to stop training any AI more powerful than GPT4.
The "Pause Letter" was poisoned by Elon's signature. Of course caution and oversight are needed, and possible pauses in technological development should always be considered. But over these past three years, every socially important event that Elon touches becomes distorted. Everyone I know speaks of the "Pause" as an expression of Elon's ego. Some signatures are best declined.
